From kindergarten to grade 1

Aidan has successfully completed kindergarten. I say this all the time but time sure flies! He'll be going into grade one in the fall and in the meantime he's enjoying the summer with camping, summer camps and relaxing days of hanging out with boring ol' mom :o)

Patchy Patch

Currently, one of Aidan's favorite shows is Toopy and Binoo. And he loves the character Patchy Patch. He wanted a Patchy Patch stuffy for Christmas but I looked into it and it was $30!!! Yikes!

So I broke out my sewing machine and all my colored felt fabrics. Aidan and I sat down and made a Patchy Patch. Aidan told told me what colors we needed and he cut and I sewed. This was a really fun project! Aidan told me he had a good time :o)

Check it out!

This Boy is almost 4!

Another year has passed which means Aidan is another year older. He will be 4 y/o come December 15th. I know I say this all the time but time really flies!

We had his birthday party on December 4th. A little early but this time of year is always busy with holiday events and planning. Thought it best to celebrate a little earlier was safe. We rented a play gym area with bouncy castle, bikes, crafts and face painting. We rented the same place last year too. We had about 15 kids coming the gym was perfect!

Aidan picked the "happy faces" theme this year so I ran with the idea.

Happy face Cupcakes

Goodie bags! Inside: happy face ballon, lollipop, helicopter toy, happy stickers and play dough.

Having fun!

It was a good day. All the kids had a blast. Most importantly Aidan told me he had "sooooo much fun".

This face painting pic wasn't taken at his birthday party but taken the week before at a different party and i had to share. Apparently he's a spider. I thought he was a hairy vampire. Haa haaa!

More sewing

I made another Ereader cover my cousin. We did some brain storming and came up with the idea of Totoro. From the Japanese animation "my neighbor Totoro". We're both fans. So I got to work.

Totoro

And my Ereader version.

Some challenging areas were the tummy area with the small cut outs and I had to sew them on by hand. It was a little too small for my sewing machine.

All-in-all, I was pretty pleased with the turn out. Hope my cuz still likes it.

Candy for the Skull...

If you didn't already know, I work in a cubicle. And at time is can be pretty boring. Sure I'm on the phone often and I get visitors but it can drive a sane woman mad. To keep me sane I have tunes. I have a lot of tunes. So you can imagine what happened when my headphone broke mid-day Friday!!! Yikes! I ran over to the The Source and picked me up these beauties.

Skull Candy headphones.

I was a little hesitant at first because they were so much bigger than my regular iPhone ear buds. Kind of like a throw back to the 80's BUT they are pretty darn cool! They sounds great and fold in very compact for travel. They have the function/buttons to answer the phone still and stop, FF and etc. Not to mention the earbuds can make my ears a little sore after awhile. Now I feel like a dj in my own desk. Yeah! Not to mention I can tune out the office drama around me when needed. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
