Currently, one of Aidan's favorite shows is Toopy and Binoo. And he loves the character Patchy Patch. He wanted a Patchy Patch stuffy for Christmas but I looked into it and it was $30!!! Yikes!
So I broke out my sewing machine and all my colored felt fabrics. Aidan and I sat down and made a Patchy Patch. Aidan told told me what colors we needed and he cut and I sewed. This was a really fun project! Aidan told me he had a good time :o)
Check it out!

This Boy is almost 4!
Another year has passed which means Aidan is another year older. He will be 4 y/o come December 15th. I know I say this all the time but time really flies!
We had his birthday party on December 4th. A little early but this time of year is always busy with holiday events and planning. Thought it best to celebrate a little earlier was safe. We rented a play gym area with bouncy castle, bikes, crafts and face painting. We rented the same place last year too. We had about 15 kids coming the gym was perfect!
Aidan picked the "happy faces" theme this year so I ran with the idea.
Happy face Cupcakes

Goodie bags! Inside: happy face ballon, lollipop, helicopter toy, happy stickers and play dough.

Having fun!

It was a good day. All the kids had a blast. Most importantly Aidan told me he had "sooooo much fun".
This face painting pic wasn't taken at his birthday party but taken the week before at a different party and i had to share. Apparently he's a spider. I thought he was a hairy vampire. Haa haaa!

Helping out
Aidan has sure become quite a handyman around the house lately. He's been gladly helping with chores. I'm going to enjoy this while it last because I've heard it doesn't last. Haa haa.
A lawn mower was a little too dangerous for a 3 year old so he decided to trim the lawn with his craft scissors.

Mr Fixer-upper with "Phil" the drill.

Apron on and washing the dishes. Well... It's more like him playing with the soap suds and plastic cups. But I think this is a good start!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter everyone!
3 day weekends are the best!
Saturday, we took Aidan to his 2nd organized Easter egg hunt event and was disappointed again. This year, we went to a different event Aidan didn't get a single egg! They had organized it that certain age groups got different coloured eggs. Well, no one seemed to care about the colour coordination and just grabbed all the eggs they could which left no eggs for the younger kids. Aidan was so sad.
Fortunately, the Easter bunny comes to our house every year and this year was no except. Sunday we had our own egg hunt in our backyard and all through our house. The Easter bunny was sure busy.
Searching for eggs...

Grinning ear to ear with his basket full of eggs.

Daddy Potter and mini Potter looking over their loot! Happy Easter!

Dirt & Spectacles
I took a risk and ordered a pair of specs online. It was a deal I couldn't pass up. Guess frames
for $30!!!

Glasses on me. Of course the the frames still need corrective lenses and it needs to be adjusted for my face. But I think they fit me pretty well otherwise.

It recently dawned on me that I only have one pair of glasses which I wear every day. If these break on me I am in trouble. I have no back up glasses and my eye sight is so bad that I would not be able to just "get by" without them. So my bright idea is to get a new pair of glasses and retire my current ones as my back up glasses.
Had fun day in outside and playing in the dirt. Kids will be kids and playing in the dirt is always a fun activity.

Fun day of baking too. Made some dairy-free brownies. Turned out pretty yummy. Someone sure liked licking the spatula

Mommy & Aidan Day
Since I started working again, it's been very rare that Aidan and I have been able to spend some quality mommy & Aidan time. Nathan had to work Sunday so Aidan and I were able to spend the day together. It was a grand day. We had yummy breakfast together then we were off to get Aidan his hair cut.

He loves getting his hair cut and he sits really still for the hair dresser. Then we decided to skip an official lunch and decided to make some snacks and pop some popcorn and headed put for Aidan's first movie theater adventure. Not just a movie but 3D movie! It was a riot seeing him at his first giant screen experience. He sat so well wearing his 3D glasses and munching on popcorn. And he kept looking over his shoulder when "water sprayed" past him. It was great!
We popped some popcorn and brought some snacks.

We saw Gnomeo and Julliette. It was a very cute movie which had enough kiddie slap stick humor and adult humor rolled in.

Aidan posing with his 3D glasses. Looks pretty stylin'!

Aidan doing a happy dance after the movie because we really enjoyed ourselves. Yeah for Happy Aidan & Mommy days!!!
