Holy Crap!

As you all know we were hit by a huge storm last night and it wasn't pretty. The following WARNING was release yesterday afternoon:

Media Release
Be Prepared for Storm-force Wind
Date: December 14, 2006 For Immediate Release

VICTORIA, BC — The City of Victoria advises citizens to get ready for extremely high and sustained
winds combined with rain tonight and into Friday morning.

The City of Victoria Engineering department is requesting businesses, contractors, building sites and
residents secure materials that could become airborne. That includes retractable canopies, ladders,
hoarding, building materials, patio furniture, garbage cans, awnings, etc.

The Victoria Emergency Management Agency advises residents to have flashlights, blankets, a
portable radio and spare batteries on hand in case of power outage, and to not park under trees or
hydro wires if possible. Candles should not be left unattended and barbeques used outdoors only for
emergency cooking and water heating. Neighbours should check on neighbours before, during and
after the storm.

I kept waking up all night and heard the wind blowing against our house and loose debris flying about outside. We woke up in the morning to find that our FENCE FLEW AWAY! Yes! 4 panels of our fence was GONE this moring! I have the pictures to prove this.

Before: Picture taken during our snow storm in November. Take notice of the fence on the right hand side.

After: Picture taken this morning as we were leaving the house. Take notice to not only the right side fence panel but also the 2 missing panels on the left...
