Name-that-tune or Pick-a-pic

I'm going to start a new ongoing weekly post called "Name that tune" or "Pick a pic" where every week I pick a random song/video or picture and comment on it. It's all going to be random so it's all going to be a surprise... Even me !

This week it's going to be Name-that-tune.

I have so many memories of this song blaring over my tiny speaker system in my micro Nissan micra. I had my girls ((Dee, Rie and Jana) in the car and we turned up the music so loud the speakers would be rattling from the vibrations. But we didn't care because the sound of us singing over music would mask the sound of the rattling. The year was 1996, I believe, one year before our high school graduation. We were young, energetic and just liked to drive around. We drove everywhere. Anywhere there was a paved road, we would drive. Actually, we would drive non-paved road too because there were no limits for us. We were young and care-free. Love my gals!

Crafty Stuff

I've been hard at work lately working on some e-reader covers. It seems like a hot item lately. I've mostly been working on Kobo touch covers. And I have to admit, it's pretty cool. It's much smaller and lighter than my kindle. And I have to say, I'm tempted but can't be justified in getting yet another e-reader. Ah, technology. It's a love-hate relationship I have with you. Here are some my creations.

Red hot sleeve with a flower sewn on.

Owl for my friend C. Turned out better than I had expected.

Backside of the owl

And for my Dane friend, A, who is living in the DK but is a true Canadian at heart - a Canadian Flag! Again, this worked out better than I had expected.

Inside lined with the super soft minky fabric to protect the screen.

You know A, if I was really thinking I should have put a Danish flag on the other side of the cover.

A Cute Story

Aidan has a female classmate "S" who shares the same diary allergy as him. One day we were leaving preschool and heading to the door aidan says goodbye to to "S". "S" runs after us towards the door and says "goodbye Aidan. I love you!" to which Aidan whips around and replies "bye "S"!I love you too."
I think my heart melted in a puddle on the floor right there and then.

Valentine's Day 2011

Had a great Valentine's day yesterday. Made some cupcakes with Aidan for my work charity bake sale. As Aidan is allergic To dairy, they were dairy-free. Still pretty tasty.

And to further celebrate this commercial day of love Aidan got one of these! That's right people, the original Peanuts sno cone machine!!! Who didn't have one of these as kids!!!

Aidan also got a bag filled will Valentine note pad, pencils, crafty things, heart necklace and etc.

Nathan and I went for our Valentine dinner on Sunday rather than Monday due to baby sitter arrangements. It was lovely having 1-1 time.

Happy Valentine's day everyone. I love you!
